Jj Johnson is a 2022 C/1B with a 6-0 205 lb. frame from Limestone, TN who attends Lakeway Christian. Recorded a 8.33 second sixty-yard dash time. Medium, compact frame with strong lower half. Primary catcher that receives from a slightly side-saddled stance with extended glove hand and quick actions out of the crouch. Gains ground in-line and quickly, while exhibiting fairly direct mid-line transfers into a short arm action. Recorded online, accurate throws up to 72 mph during drills. Secondary first baseman with smooth, clean glove actions and agility around the bag. Displayed quickness to his turns and delivered accurate throws up to 72 mph across the diamond. Left-handed hitter that hits from a slightly open stance with a deep hand set, high back elbow and hanging leg lift trigger. Lofted stroke with high intent, developing bat-to-ball skills and good leverage out in front when on-time and extended. Pullside approach with rotational lower half and some compact bat speed. Will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments and additional strength. Good Student.
