Case Stroup is a 2020 LHP/1B, OF with a 6-2 172 lb. frame from Apex, NC who attends Apex Friendship HS. Recorded a 7.08 second 60-yard dash time. Lean and wiry frame with broad shoulders, room to fill, and present athleticism. Primary lefthanded pitcher with a higher three-quarter arm angle. Compact delivery and attacks the strike zone with a crossfire element to his landing leg. Gets over the front side well and commands well to the arm side. Compact arm action with soft stab in the back of the path. Flashes arm side run on the fastball and creates good angle on the pitch. Quick tempo and fields position well. Got stronger as the outing went on with his best velocity coming in his last inning. Breaking ball flashed two-plane action to it. Secondary outfielder with good present arm strength recorded up to 86 mph. Fluidity to motion and actions with throws that were low to the ground and accurate. Projects well and showed good range and athleticism. Secondary first baseman with quick and soft hands. Accurate throws and the arm strength plays well at the position. Lefthanded hitter with a spread open stance. High hand set with a high back elbow and swings down on the ball. Inside hand path and a one handed finish. Flashed strength through the point of contact and is looking to hit line drives to all fields. Named to the 2017 Atlantic Coast Underclass Showcase Top Prospect List. Great student.
