Dylan Johnson is a 2019 SS/RHP with a 5-10 155 lb. frame from San Antonio, TX who attends Johnson HS. Medium build, lean and athletic frame with plenty of projectability. Ran a 7.15 60 yard dash. Primary shortstop, good footwork with athleticism to the ball, clean funnel of the baseball, clean hands that work well fielding the ball out in front, smooth transfer to an over the top arm slot, arm works with good arm strength, throws show good carry, topped out at 85 mph across the diamond. Also pitched, up tempo and quick paced delivery, simple turn step into windup, lower leg lift slightly below belt, compact arm action to a high 3/4 arm slot, gets downhill pretty well creating plane in the lower third of the zone, lands online toward the plate with some effort through release, showed good arm speed as well, fastball showed some cutting action, should develop an offspeed pitch for added effectiveness. Righthanded hitter, balanced and slightly open stance, longer and quick hand path to baseball, uphill barrel plane, rotational swing showing leverage when squared up, gap to gap approach. Great student. Named to National Underclass South Showcase Top Prospect List.
