Jack Donofrio is a 2019 RHP/OF with a 6-2 190 lb. frame from Simsbury, CT who attends Simsbury High School. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and nice present strength proportioned throughout frame. Ran a 3.68 30-yard dash, full of quick-twitch muscle. Primary righthanded pitcher, simple side step moving into delivery, leg lift just above belt with a slight hip turn at top. Shows a full and quick arm action through the back while working to an over-the-top slot, gets on top and generates plane on fastball. Topped out at 82 mph, mostly true in life but lived down in the lower third of zone, maintained velocity well and stayed off barrels, works over front side nicely. Curveball comes out of same slot, 12-6 shape with late bite at 70 mph, throws the pitch for strikes. Athleticism and arm strength play in outfield too, takes short steps to the ball and works through it well, repeats actions and gets on top of throws, very nice arm strength and carry, accurate to the bag, comes out of hand clean. Righthanded hitter, begins with an open stance and a high hand set and back elbow in the box. Uses a leg lift trigger for timing, shows nice quickness to hands and barrel through the zone, shows ability to create backspin with hard contact coming off to the pull side. Incorporates lower half into swing, nice tools to build upon. Two-way potential. Named to Northeast Indoor-NY Top Prospect List. Excellent student.
