Nikki Chomyak is a 2018 OF/RHP/3B with a 5-10 175 lb. frame from Shawnee, KS who attends Shawnee Mission Northwest HS. Medium frame with a strong, athletic build. Frame projects to support additional size with strength. Ran a 7.59 sixty-yard dash. Primary outfielder with smooth paced, fundamental footwork while ranging to and closing on the baseball. Clean actions through transition and generated good momentum through release. Long arm circle back at separation and released from a three-quarters arm slot. Throws generated accurate on line carry topping at 84 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, even stance. Strides to a slightly closed position prior to hands launching on a loose, extended path to contact. Primarily worked to the middle of the field and opposite field generating consistently line drive, ground ball contact. Also pitched showing a simple leg lift delivery. Stays balanced at gather and released from an over head arm slot. Fastball has straight actions to the plate with downhill life through the zone, topped at 80 miles per hour. Curveball has tight rotation with solid downward depth. Consistently pounded the zone with both pitched and changes speeds keeping hitters off balance. Also flashed a cut fastball later in outing that had good life to glove side in the mid 70's.
