Rhett Maynard is a 2019 SS/RHP, 3B with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Amarillo, TX who attends Amarillo High School. Large frame, medium build with long limbs, athleticism, and room to continue to fill out with physical strength. Posted an impressive 6.97 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary shortstop, showed developing actions, slightly stiff hands with raw arm strength from the left side of the infield. At the plate, started with an even stance, stride to the ball, and a toe tap timing mechanism. Showed looseness to swing, some lift, and torque created through his lower half. Balanced swing at the plate, would improve with additional rhythm and synced lower and upper half. Also pitched, showed a full, loose arm action, from three quarter slot, and high leg raise. Threw from a three quarter arm slot, landed closed, some extension, and minimal lower half drive. Fastball worked 73-76/77 mph with subtle life and tight rotation. Curveball showed some slurve tendencies at 69 mph, yanking it across with shorter break and 11/5 shape when on top of it. Very good student.
