Jason Sharman is a 2018 OF/LHP with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Las Vegas, NV who attends Desert Oasis. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Projects for additional strength while maintaining athleticism. Ran a 6.85 sixty-yard dash. Primary outfielder with clean, smooth footwork while closing to the baseball. Polished glove actions while funnels the baseball and working through exchange. Released from a compact three-quarters arm slot generating accurate, on line carry to the bag topping at 79 miles per hour. Left handed hitter with a spread, slightly open stance and simple front side trigger. Works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Simple, repeatable path to contact with a slightly lifted plane through extension. Stays balanced throughout and created good leverage when connecting with baseball out front. Ball jumped off the barrel well and showed the ability to manipulate bat head and work to all fields. Also pitched working exclusively from the stretch. Smooth paced leg lift delivery. Creates some coil over back leg and stays tall at gather. Works to the plate with drop and drive actions and released from a three-quarters slot. Showed good feel for a fastball and consistently worked to each edge fo the plate in the mid to upper 70's, topped at 79 miles per hour. Curveball had 2/8 shape with solid spin and good depth in the upper 60's. Repeated mechanics well and consistently pounded that strike zone with both pitches. Outstanding student. Named to the 2017 West Academic Showcase Top Prospect List.
