Carson Beavers is a 2020 LHP/OF with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Blue Ridge, GA who attends Fannin County HS. Medium, athletic frame with broadness to shoulders and young look, lean and projectable build with room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.13 60-yard dash. Primary lefthanded pitcher, begins with a simple turn step into a leg lift up to belt, slight hip turn at top of balance point and stays short through the back with arm action. Incorporates lower half well to drive down the mound, works from a high three-quarters slot and creates angle to lower third of zone; fastball mostly true and topped out at 81 mph, flashes occasional running life. Lands on line and shows balance throughout, flashed curveball at 68 mph. Takes short steps moving towards the ball in the outfield, fields the ball out front, similar short arm action with a lower release point then when on mound. Righthanded hitter, begins with an open stance, utilizes a contact approach at the plate with short stroke and occasional lift at point of contact. Worked all fields, simple mechanics and well timed, projects with physical strength. Very good student.
