Arthur Long is a 2019 RHP/1B, 3B with a 6-3 205 lb. frame from Pelham, NY who attends Fordham Preparatory. Extra-large, athletic build with broad shoulders and present strength to frame, additional room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.67 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, nice tempo throughout delivery with high leg lift above belt, full hands over head delivery with slight hip turn at top. Does a nice job of hiding the baseball through backside while working to a high three-quarters release point, flashed a feel for a three-pitch mix. Fastball topped out at 80 mph with heavy life and gets on hitter. Tends to slow arm action prior to release on curveball at 67 mph. Nice overall feel on the mound and filled zone with fastball. Showed solid accuracy across the diamond during infield drills, short arm action through the back, fields the ball out front with bend at waist, works through the ball and remains upright at release. Righthanded hitter, begins with a spread lower half and even base at the box. Incorporates physical strength well, short shift moving into contact and shows ability to impact the baseball when squared. Upper body dominant swing with a full path through the zone, best carry to left-center field gap, looks to elevate at point of contact. Excellent student.
