KJ Curry is a 2017 SS with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Bowie, MD who attends The Avalon HS. Has an athletic build, slender frame, plenty of room to fill out physically as he continues to put on additional muscle. Posted a 6.85 60-yard dash, moves well on the base paths and on the infield. From shortstop, showed quick footwork and athleticism, good overall range. Displayed developing accuracy on throws with arm strength up to 72 MPH. At the plate, starts with a slightly open stance, wide base, and high hand set. Has a small bat wrap and toe-tap trigger load. Swings on a line drive swing plane with a middle of the field approach. Has good bat speed and developing strength. Uses a contact approach, able to hit the ball to all fields. Excellent student.
