Tai Gilbert is a 2019 OF/RHP with a 6-3 170 lb. frame from Bradenton, FL who attends Out-Of-Door Academy. Long and lanky build, lots of room to add strength, young look. 7.18 runner, long and loose arm action in the outfield with good carry when he stays directional through release, athletic actions through the ball. Right handed hitter, straight balanced stance, rotational lower half swing, spins around his core, swings hard and looks to hit the ball hard, line drive swing plane with a middle of the field approach. Also pitched, submarine pitching style, pretty consistent and fluid with his mechanics and arm action. Fastball has consistent sink topping out at 70 mph, stays low in the zone with it. Frisbee slider has sweeping shape and also around the zone. Good student.
