Joseph Schertzer is a 2026 RHP/1B, OF with a 6-4 221 lb. frame from Grand Haven, MI who attends Grand Haven. Primary right-handed pitcher with a physical build. Works from the wind-up and uses a little sidestep to gain momentum. Works downhill well with longer arm action through the back and a high 3/4 slot release. Works with big downhill angles off his fastball with late running life to it and working up to 84. Mixed in a curve with healthy 11-5 shape and good depth. Could locate and drop it in for strikes at times. Just want to see the control refined a bit more. Flashed a cutter as well with good late break. Also played first using a clean two hand gather with a short quick release. Some good arm strength behind his throws with accuracy. Moves well around the bag with good quickness for his size. Also ran a 7.82 sixty. Right-handed hitter with an upright stance and even base. Has some impact strength out in front and can drive it back up the middle well while shifting the weight into front side.
