Brett Hunt is a 2009 OF/SS/P with a 5'9'', 155 lb. frame from Pembroke, NC who attends Purnell Swett HS. He has a compact, athletic build with some body live and strength. Hunt is an aggressive hitter who shows some bat speed and hand quickness. He has a busy trigger and gets out to his front side quickly while crowding the plate; he's looking to pull everything. He may want to rethink standing so close to the plate as the pitcher's throw harder or simplifying his trigger, but the ball comes off his bat well on contact. Hunt is a good defensive outfielder who shows arm strength and is aggressive coming to the ball. He also played some infield and showed good quick feet. He looks like he has the tools and skills to potentially be a utility type who can play all around the field. Hunt also pitched some; he threw 80 mph from a high overhand release point and created excellent downhill angle on his fastball that hitters couldn't deal with. His curveball is a work in progress but his fastball is deceptive and can get a lot of outs. Hunt was a high energy, hustling player who enjoyed being on the field. He is also an excellent student.
