Miguel Flores is a 2008 MIF with a 5'9'', 175 lb. frame from Union City CA, who attends James Logan HS. Selected as a Top Prospect at this event. He has a compact and strong athletic build. Flores is a good all-around baseball player. He can hit, can field, throws well, and understands how to play the game. Flores can really swing the bat and has an outstanding hitting approach. He has feel for hitting and keeps it simple. His hands work really well and they fire easily, going directly to the ball. He has an opposite field approach and trusts his approach, knowing that he has fast enough hands to get to the inner half. He lets the ball travel and takes what is given to him. Flores has a simple line drive swing that will work well in the two-hole but could move him into the three hole of a college line-up. He does not have typical middle infielder footspeed but his instincts, soft hands, and strong arm make him a good defensive player. He has an easy arm stroke, quick release and throws accurately, with some carry. Flores moves to and through the ball well, staying under control all the while. Like he does with the bat, Flores has feel for the leather and playing defense. He is a solid student too.
