Quaid Morris is a 2009 SS/RHP with a 6'1'', 175 lb. frame from Nampa, ID who attends Nampa HS. He has a lean, lively, athletic body to go with athletics movements on the field. Morris was one of the better physical talents at the event. He needs to be watched closely by D1 programs because when it all comes together for him he just might break out as one of the top players in the west. Offensively he flashed plus hitting tools in BP. Morris has a quiet swing and a quick bat. He sets up well with an upright stance and swings with balance. He is a line drive type hitter but will develop some power as he gets stronger. Defensively Morris has a quick, strong arm and good body control. He is an athletic infielder with range and he plays with energy. On the mound Morris also has a chance. He pitches from an over the top slot, with a quick arm that will produce more velocity in the coming years, especially once he gets a delivery he can repeat more consistently. Morris has a low-80s fastball and a big 12/6ish curveball (68 mph) that had good downer action. Though he is a bit raw in all facets, Morris is a talented young player.
