Took a solid batting practice with bat speed and feel for the barrel with more impact as he develops physically.

Phipps ran the fastball up to 87 mph with a solid curveball in the 68-72 mph range. He recorded two strikeouts over two innings while allowing two hits. A primary catcher, Phipps showed athletic ability all over the field with plays at shortstop and right field while recording a 2.01 pop time behind the plate. Throw in a bullet to left field for a single in the box and Phipps warranted the Top Prospect List.

Struck out two in one inning of work on the bump with fastball/curveball combo that he landed for strikes. Utility player that showed solid defensive skills all over the diamond with the ability to take the ball on the bump if needed.
