Bryson Dutch (2027 1B, Lithia Springs, GA) got the start for Gray and showed off some quality arm strength from a strong, durable frame. Running the fastball up to 85 mph, Dutch worked around the zone and pitched heavily off of his heater, pitching to some contact earlier in counts.
Brody Meyer (2028 SS, Cape Coral, FL) led things off for the Gold team offensively, jumping all over a fastball to pull a liner into the left-center field gap for a single, showing a compact stroke with plenty of bat speed.
Jackson Victor (2028 SS, Frisco, TX) wasted little time making an impact from the batter’s box, showing a smooth left-handed stroke as he hooked a double down into the right field corner to drive in a run.
Gio Brennan (2029 OF, Meridian, ID) made the trip out from Idaho and immediately went to work, missing bats while pumping the strike zone. He’d mix in a quick pitch to keep hitters alert while living in the mid-70s, flashing a low-60s breaker for strikes.
Michael Tally (2027 SS, Fayetteville, GA) stepped to the plate for his first at-bat of the day and immediately made an impact, lining the first pitch he saw back into center field for a line drive double.
The offense went wild for the Gray team in the bottom half of the 6th as Bragg Boyd (2028 OF, Roswell, GA), Anderson Milla (2029 OF, Atlanta, GA) and DJ Jones (2027 SS, Lawrenceville, GA) all went for doubles while Ethan Williams (2027 OF, Douglasville, GA) cleared the fence out in left field for a home run. Boyd, Milla and Jones all put quality swings on the ball with Jones’ coming as one of the more impressive swings of the group as his hopped over for a ground rule double deep into the right-center field gap.
Williams had himself a two-hit day at the plate, but the second hit was for sure the most impressive of the entire time, creating leverage and back spin, showing enough strength juice it out. On the mound he topped out in the upper-70s and also showed a changeup with late, diving life.
