Batting Practice Highlights
Adanel Baptista (2025, Orlando, Fla.) took a really good round of BP swings to kick things off. The right-hander creates separation well and is able to connect with the barrel, impacting well. Loose hands with some jump off the barrel — impacted well pull-side to start and was able to work backside a bit as well.
Trever Baumler (2024, Urbandale, Iowa) shined on both sides of the ball today, but started the day out with a quality round of BP. The right-handed bat created good whip through the zone with extension through contact to lift the ball. He attacked pull-side for his best results, lifting the ball well during the round. TCU commit.
Jack Clevidence (2024, Ankeny, Iowa) took a solid round of BP swings showing off a short and direct stroke — getting on the ball early to do damage and connect with the barrel out in front. The right-handed bat attacked the whole field results-wise but had some good contact working pull-side when he got to it out in front. Evansville commit.
Karson Grout (2024, Wellman, Iowa) is a left-handed bat who showed off hard turns and the ability to lift. He gets through the zone with some serious leverage and is able to do damage in the air. He extends well through it and was able to do damage working pull-side. Iowa commit.
James Love (2024, Joliet, Ill.) produced some quality swings, especially working pull-side through the zone to do damage. He was able to impact the ball with some thump off the barrel from the right side of the dish. Took a good round of BP swings and showed off the pull-side approach. Eastern Illinois commit.
Brett White (2024, North Liberty, Iowa) handled the bat well during BP, extending well through the zone to be able to connect with the ball and drive it deep to RF. Able to get the barrel on it and lift it deep pull-side when he’s in-sync. There’s a clean left-handed stroke with some looseness to it that allows him to do damage. Baylor commit.
Carter Geffre (2024, Ames, Iowa) showed off quick hands from the right side of the plate, being able to whip the barrel through the zone and do damage. He was short to it and long through it, extending to do damage working in the pull-side gap during his round of BP swings. Iowa commit.
Ryley Chapman (2024, Sanford, Fla.) showed off a clean stroke from both sides of the plate. He makes an inward move with some whip to the hands and good turns — with a similar swing from both sides. As a right-hander, he worked gap-to-gap with loud barrels. As a lefty, worked mostly pull-side with some louds swings. UTSA commit.
Logan Sanchez (2024, Lake Mary, Fla.) used a hip-driven swing from the right side being able to create some coil and then uncork hard through the swing. His best results came working back up the middle in the air and in the pull-side gap with some lift showing. Impressive strength in the physical frame that allowed for some good results during BP. Southern commit.
Paul Green (2024, Tyrone, Ga.) uses a deeper load with a wider base in the lower half. He stays pretty short and direct to it, being able to lift the ball well, as shown during BP. He created some bat speed through it with whip that allowed him to lift and leverage, especially working pull-side. Mizzou commit.
Jake Miller (2025, Marion, Iowa) swung it really well from both sides of the plate. Switch-hitter who was able to connect with pitches with a ton of intent. Hard swings with good bat speed to connect and find the barrel. Twitchy stroke with a ton of bat speed and feel to do damage with the barrel as shown during BP.
