2021 California Prospect Showcase (10/23/2021 - 10/24/2021)

Maroon Vs. Navy Highlights
10/24/2021 12:50:04 AM

Daniel Suarez (2023 LHP, Manhattan Beach, CA) had a solid outing on the bump. The southpaw struck out four over three shutout innings. Showcased a solid two-pitch mix. Fastball topped 80 mph and sat consistently in the mid-70s. Showed good feel for a mid-60s curveball with 1-7 shape. Good feel for spin in any count, forced plenty of whiffs and Commanded the zone well. Has some physical traits to build upon from a projectable 6-foot-3 frame. Uncommitted for the 2023 class.

Jackson Snitko (2022 1B, Tustin, CA) went 2-for-2 with an RBI double at the plate and was one of the top performers of the day. Stays short with a compact right-handed swing. Makes solid pull-side contact with present bat speed. Has some size to his frame that can be tapped into at the next level. Uncommitted name to keep an eye on for the 2022 class.

Sean Youngerman (2022 RHP, Woodlands Hills, CA) was effective in relief. The right-hander went three shoutout frames, striking out six in the process. Fastball sat 84-85 mph and topped out at 86 mph with slight arm-side run. Paired his heat with a tight mid-70s slider with some bite. Missed plenty of barrels from a compact, high three-quarter delivery. Good arm speed and physicality, gets downhill and attacked the zone. Keep a close eye on this uncommitted 2022 product.

Tyler Wilson (2023 LHP, Huntington Beach, CA) showcased some potential on the bump. The southpaw struck out eight over three shutout relief innings. Fastball ran up to 83 mph to go along with a curveball and changeup. Took some off the changeup, sat in the low-70s with subtle shape and fade. Flashed a low-60s curveball that flashed some depth and 1-7 shape for whiffs. Solid pitchability, good feel for his arsenal. Challenged hitters up in the zone. Has room to add in his frame as well. Uncommitted for the 2023 class.

Matthew Krause (2024 OF, Hermosa Beach, CA) laced a pair of hard-hit balls up the middle. Finished 2-for-3 and showcased a solid right-handed swing. Strong, physical frame with room for added strength. Uses strong hands to shoot through the zone. Can get into his legs more as he physically develops, but the strength is present and put it on display. Remains uncommitted for the 2024 class.

Lucas Scott (2023 SS, Long Beach, CA) held his own at shortstop, showing crisp motions and a strong arm. Moves well laterally with quick footwork and acceleration to charge the ball. Solid glove-to-hand transfers, made a pair of impressive plays deep in the hole. Good defensive skillset. Swing has solid contact from the right side. Uncommitted for the 2023 class.
