Christopher Cruz (2022 RHP, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) dominated through two innings and didn't allow a hit, while striking out two. The right-hander showed a simple and repeatable three-quarter delivery and sat 87-88 MPH with the fastball and topped out at 90 MPH. He consistently located the fastball to his glove side and worked downhill. Cruz also flashed some feel for a slurvy 77 MPH breaking ball with 11-5 shape and tight rotation, while maintaining his arm speed.
Off the bat it looked like Elijah Green (2022 OF, Windermere, FL) was going to have another extra-base hit with really loud contact on a ball driven to deep center field, but Jackson Brayan Chourio (2022 OF, Maracaibo, Venezuela) made a great over-the-shoulder catch, showing off tremendous range and athleticism.
Elijah Green (2022 OF, Windermere, FL) one-hopped the fence in left field in his second at-bat. Green utilizes his large frame to generate leverage in his swing and produces raw power as he drove the ball to all parts of the field throughout the weekend.
Lou Paolillo (2022 3B, Jupiter, FL) generated a lot of swing and miss as he punched out seven batters in three scoreless innings pitched while not allowing a hit. Paolillo worked 77-81 MPH with the fastball and topped out at 83 MPH. He showed great feel for a 73 MPH curveball, consistently throwing the pitch for strikes, while he also flashed a 73 MPH change-up.
Manuel Beltre (2022 SS, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) displayed a fluid and simple stroke and squared up a line drive single to left field. Beltre is an advanced defender with soft hands and a very quick release.
Jackson Brayan Chourio (2022 OF, Maracaibo, Venezuela) showcased his present bat speed and turned on a pitch left up in the zone to line a double to left-center field and later came around to score.
Grabiel De Jesus Arias Morel (2022 SS, Santo Domingo Este, Dominican Republic) showed good bat speed and bat to ball skills as he lined a hard single to left field in his first at-bat. He also displayed above average defensive actions with excellent footwork and a strong arm across the infield.
Landon Moran (2022 LHP, Altamonte Springs, FL) generated a lot of swing and miss in his three innings of work as he had five strikeouts using a 75-80 MPH fastball and a 63 MPH curveball.
Jackson Gaspard (2022 C, Flowery Branch, GA) turned on an inside pitch and roped a line drive double to left field and later stole third base and scored a run. Gaspard was also 78-81 MPH with a 66 MPH curveball on the mound and allowed just one hit in his two innings of work.
Spencer Margolis (2022 OF, Louisville, TN) pounded the bottom half of the zone with a 71-75 MPH as he did not allow a hit in three innings pitched. The right-hander struck out four and showed feel for a 65 MPH breaking ball.
