2017 Jr. National Showcase

Green vs. Maroon
6/13/2017 12:30:13 PM

After running a 6.33 60-yard, Jerrion Ealy (2019 OF, Carthage, MS) continued to show off his speed with a 4.13 down the line to beat out an infield single before lining another single up the middle. He’s a premier athlete and also a highly-decorated football recruit

Hayden Dunhurst (2019 C, Carriere, MS) started things off in a big way with a loud double into the opposite field. He did a nice job of getting his arms extended and drove the ball for a hard and loud piece.

Brandon Smith (2019 3B, Canton, GA) will catch your attention with is physical build and though he’s listed as a primary hitter, he impressed on the mound too. Early in his outing he ran his fastball up to 88 mph with solid sinking life to the bottom of the zone while changing arm slots.

Albert Hernandez (2020 RHP, Davie, FL) showed his strength and put a solid piece off the Green Monster for a two-bagger. Already committed to Miami, Hernandez showed a sound swing path with natural leverage.

Cade Horton (2020 SS, Norman, OK) made quick work of his two innings, pounding the zone with his fastball that topped out at 87 mph. Though a primary shortstop, Horton projects well on the bump with a quick and projectable arm as well as a solid slider up to 78 mph.

Cayden Wallace (2020 3B, Greenbrier, AR) continued to impress this weekend and most recently did so on the mound. A true two-way prospect, Wallace was up to 88 mph with his fastball and attacked the zone showing a long and loose arm stroke through the back. He also singled to his pull side.

Mac Horvath (2020 SS, Rochester, MN) showed off his two-way abilities, jumping on the mound and produced a fastball up to 89 mph while showing a clean arm. And though it was ultimately a long foul ball, Horvath showed his hand speed at the plate turning on a ball for a loud piece.
