Green vs. Gold

Green

#12 Cody Benton – Very smooth delivery and mechanics, throwing action looks effortless.   Sitting mid to upper 80s (84-88) in the first inning, topping out at 88.  He had a quick tempo in his delivery.

#4 Jerrion Ealy – Made hard contact on the ground to opposite side for a base hit, and showed great speed on the bases with an easy steal. Also displayed a level bat plane and aggressive mindset

#21 Cayden Wallace – Quick bat speed on an inside fastball, resulting in a hard hit single through the left side in his first at bat.  Also hammered a ball to SS in his second at bat, unfortunately Freeland was there to make a nice play on it.  Displayed his plus arm strength as well on a groundball at third base

#23 Albert Hernandez – Made solid contact up the middle with two strikes off of a good curveball, stole second base pretty easily and stole third later in the inning.

#7 Mac Horvath – Hammered a fastball off of the green monster for a double, showed a very quick bat and hands, and a balanced and compact swing.  Also some wheels on the bases and an overall good athlete.  Added a line drive single to left to cement his great game.

#11 Cade Sitka - Working consistently at 86-88 mph.   Has a tight breaking slider, more of a 10 to 4 shape when its good.    Not afraid to throw the fastball for curveball or strikes, looking to get ahead of the hitters.

#9 Alex Munroe – 88 mph from the left side, throwing a lot of strikes with the fastball

#6 Kameron Guidry – showed some of the cleaner infield actions throughout the game, with athletic feet and good hands.

Gold

#12 Matthew Allan - Up to 93 mph from the right side with a very clean arm action.  Pounding the zone with strikes, and fastball showed some arm side run.    Curveball was sharp with 12 to 6 break and good depth.

#15 Pierce Gallo– Hard opposite field line drive first at bat on  a high fastball, scored from second base on a ground ball that was kept in the infield.  Also stole second base previously in the inning.

#4 Johnny Castagnozzi – Good instincts in the field and reliable hands, athletic movements overall.  Hard hit ball to left side on a hanging curveball in first at bat

#22 Bobby Spencer – very strong arm from 3rd base across the infield.

#30 Will Childers – big curveball, not late break but consistent break.  83-86 mph with the fastball

#19 Cain Tatum – Very tall and thin with a lot of room to grow, works downhill well towards the plate, getting on top of the hitter with his 86-88 mph fastball

#1 Alex Freeland – Showed exceptional ability in the field, always seeming to be in the right place at the right time.  On top of that, the ability with his footwork and hands are unmatched at this event.

#2 Micahel Allegri – Up to 87 mph with a balanced and compact delivery to the plate, and showed the ability to throw all of his pitches for strikes.
