Brock Porter (2022 Milford, Mich.) was lights out on the bump for Tri-State Arsenal in game one of bracket play. The Clemson commit went four innings allowing only one hit and no runs. He worked ahead of hitters with his fastball that sat 89-92 mph and topped out at 93 mph. His breaking ball showed tight spin with good depth and 11-5 shape to it. He was able to landed a low 80’s change up for strikes showing good arm speed. His ability to throw all three pitches effectively from the same high three-quarters arm slot with a quick tight arm action creates deception and make it tough on hitters. He does a nice job getting some forward lean coming down the hill as it allows him to get his lower half activated and drive down the mound. Overall there is a lot to like with his three pitch mix and still some projection in his 6-3, 185 pound frame.
