PERFECT GAME ANNOUNCES ROSTERS FOR

23RD ANNUAL DICK’S ALL-AMERICAN CLASSIC

PG’s Annual Premier Event Returns to San Diego’s Petco Park on August 17

Weekend Will Also Feature the PG All-Star Game and Home Run Challenge

Sanford, Florida (Wednesday, July 23, 2025) - Perfect Game, the world’s largest youth baseball and softball platform and scouting service, today announced details for the 23rd annual DICKS All-American Classic, including rosters for both teams, broadcast information, community involvement and a rundown of the weekend’s events. Perfect Game’s premier game will see the top 60 high school baseball players from around the country take part in various events both on and off the field throughout the weekend of August 15-17 throughout San Diego as the game returns to Petco Park, home of the Padres, for the first time since 2021.

The rosters for both Team East and Team West are currently live at perfectgame.org and feature representatives from 20 U.S. states and Puerto Rico with California leading the way with 13 players. Headlining this year’s group is shortstop Grady Emerson, a 3-time PG Select Fest participant who is the top-ranked player in the nation according to Perfect Game, out of Fort Worth Christian High School. Several of the athletes have ties to current or former major league players and coaches, including infielder Jacob Lombard – ranked #2 in the nation by Perfect Game – son of former MLB outfielder and current Tigers bench coach George Lombard and brother of 2022 All-American Classic player George Lombard Jr.; righthander Joseph Contreras, son of former MLB All-Star Jose Contreras (who will also serve as a coach at the event); infielder Miller Sheets, son of former 4-time MLB All-Star Ben Sheets; and infielder Trey Ebel, son of Dodgers third base coach Dino Ebel and brother of 2024 All-American Classic player Brady Ebel.

As the premier event on the travel baseball calendar, the DICK’S All-American Classic brings together North America’s top high school talent for a high-profile showcase broadcast globally on PerfectGame.TV and drawing MLB scouts and college recruiters from all over the baseball world.

With San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter as its backdrop, Perfect Game will stage a takeover of downtown San Diego with events throughout the weekend. On Friday, August 14, Perfect Game will kickstart the weekend with the PG 2025 All-Star Game at 11:00 am PT. On Saturday, Perfect Game will hold its annual Home Run Challenge at 10:00 am PT when the top high school sluggers will show off their strength. The final round of the Home Run Challenge will take place prior to the All-American Classic on Sunday at 3:00 pm PT. All on-field weekend events will emanate from Petco Park.

The weekend culminates with the DICK’S All-American Classic on Sunday at 5:00 pm PT live on PerfectGame.TV. Veteran baseball broadcaster Daron Sutton will be on the call, along with longtime scout David Rawnsley. The broadcast team will be rounded out with dugout reporter Hannah Jo Groves, who will be stationed on the field to get immediate reaction from players and coaches and conduct on-field interviews throughout the game.

In the tradition of past All-American Classic events, the participating athletes, along with managers Trevor Hoffman and Ryan Klesko, will have the opportunity to make a meaningful visit to Rady Children’s Hospital to connect with the patients and their families and bring smiles, encouragement and a sense of community. This heartfelt tradition is a powerful reminder that the impact of baseball extends far beyond the diamond.

Admission is free to all Perfect Game events at Petco Park throughout the weekend as fans are welcome to attend and see baseball’s next generation of superstars.

Brotherly Love Inspires Carter Hadnot

Jim Salisbury
Article Image
PHILADELPHIA – Perfect Game has been a big part of Carter Hadnot’s life since he was 12. He participated in more than a dozen tournaments and showcases, including prestigious Select Festivals as a 13U and 14U player, as well as last summer’s PG All-Star Game for underclassmen in San Diego.   The PG event that Hadnot always wanted to be part of was the DICK’s All-American Classic. Now, that’s on his resume, too. He played in the 24th annual Classic earlier this week at Citizens Bank Park, home of the Philadelphia Phillies. “This means a lot to me,” he said during the event. “I always wanted to make it to Select Fest when I was younger. So, every time I get invited to an event it’s an honor and it’s fun. I don’t take it for granted. “This is definitely the one I always wanted to make it to. A lot of big names have...

Scott Wins MVP Two Ways

Jim Salisbury
Article Image
PHILADELPHIA – When the folks at Perfect Game reached out to invite him to pitch in the 2026 PG All-Star Game for rising sophomores and juniors, Cullen Scott had one request. “You mind if I get a couple of at-bats, too?” Along with his dad, Scott traveled from the family’s home in Texas to Citizens Bank Park. The trip proved to be a huge success as he starred on the mound and at the plate and was named the game’s Most Valuable Player. Scott, 16, pitched a scoreless first inning and struck out two. In the fourth inning, he belted a grand slam six rows up into the left-field seats to lead the National team’s 6-1 win over the American team. “He showed us why he’s here as a pitcher and a hitter,” said Greg Sabers, PG’s vice president of scouting and showcases. "He’s one of the top pitchers here, but he’s too good a...

Romero Slams His Way to Classic MVP

Jim Salisbury
Article Image
PHILADELPHIA – Sunday’s DICK’s Perfect Game All-American Classic was a pitching-dominated affair until the bottom of the eighth inning when the rain started to fall at Citizens Bank Park and Koa Romero stepped to the plate and did his best impression of Kyle Schwarber. Romero wears No. 12, just like Schwarber. He bats left-handed, just like Schwarber. He’s got big power, just like Schwarber. And at 5-10 and a rock-solid 225 pounds, he’s even built like Schwarber. Needless to say, Schwarber is Romero’s favorite player. So, it was all kind of storybook when Romero belted a grand slam to dead center to cap off the scoring in the West team’s 8-3 win over the East club in the 24th annual Classic. “This is a dream come true,” said Romero, who was named MVP of the game. “It’s amazing to be able to put a ball like that out of a...

A Philly Dream for Steingall

Jim Salisbury
Article Image
PHILADELPHIA – Carson Steingall had been to Citizens Bank Park many times over the years. After all, he hails from Nazareth, Pa., about 90 minutes up the road from the home of the Philadelphia Phillies and he counts himself as a big fan of the team. Zack Wheeler is his favorite. Steingall realized a dream when he pitched from the same mound that Wheeler does in Perfect Game’s fourth annual All-Star Game for rising sophomores and juniors on Friday. The dream got even better when Steingall, a 16-year-old right-hander, was named Most Valuable Pitcher after striking out the side in the third inning of the National team’s 6-1 victory over the American team. “It’s just an honor to be here,” Steingall said after receiving his trophy. “This event is the best of the best. It’s really cool to win something like this.” Steingall, who’ll...
