MLB Draft: Early Season Movers

MLB Draft Board Updated: Top 300

Aiden Harris, 3B, Pro Development Group (VA)
Draft Eligible: 2024 | Draft Board Rank: 51

Harris went down to Hoover and showed off some good swings, carrying that forward and showing off that feel for the barrel for PDG. He's shown really impressive stuff in the batters' box on the circuit. He's got tons of strength to impact with a really simple and low-effort stroke that yields some of the loudest contact in the class. The Virginia commit has been one of the big bats in the PDG lineup this spring. The power upside here is mountainous with a swing that's quick to launch and produces some seriously loud results. Harris is also up to 92 mph on the fastball. Sub-7.00 60-yard dash runner with twitch and athleticism in the 6-foot-4, 230-pound frame. He's someone to keep an eye on moving forward, that's for sure, currently stationed just outside the Top 50 in the class.

Kellon Lindsey, SS/OF, Hardee Senior (FL)
Draft Eligible: 2024 | Draft Board Rank: NR

Lindsey has been one of the names that has been getting a ton of buzz this spring. He made a name for himself in 2023, but after playing football in the fall as QB1 for his high school squad, he’s back on the dirt for baseball season and showing off the tools left and right. He’s a 6-foot, 175-pound frame that oozes athleticism and tons of twitch. He’s been able to really show off his tools lately, playing some shortstop and centerfield for the Hardee squad. He may not stick in the middle of the field in the long term, but he’s a burner and has the speed/athleticism to get it done. The Florida commit is a right-handed bat with a pretty simple and fluid stroke. He’s direct with his stride and hands, with some bat speed to beat the ball to the front and do damage. He’s 7-for-15 this spring with a few extra-base hits and 8 bags swiped on the basepaths. He’s walked 8 times and struck out just 3 times. Keep an eye on Lindsey as the spring continues to progress.

Bryce Rainer, RHP/SS, Harvard Westlake (CA)
Draft Eligible: 2024 | Draft Board Rank: 41

One of the premier two-way talents who’s really shined on the mound this spring is Bryce Rainer. He’s inside the Top-50 on our board, and it looks like he’s got the up-arrow next to him as we look ahead to the next update. Rainer has looked the part on both sides of the ball but pieced together some really nice starts this spring. He’s worked up into the mid-90s on the fastball (up to 96 mph), with a feel for a mid-70s curveball, slider up to 81 mph, and changeup in the 78-81 mph range with good depth. Just a ton to like here, with easy velocity and athleticism on the mound, which also translates into the batters’ box. Rainer has easy bat speed and some juice that’s worked to all fields. He’s launched a couple of balls this spring and has handled the bat well. It’s two-way upside that teams are likely to be in on the traits on the mound, though the Texas commit has also shown some loud swings this spring.

Gage Jump, LHP, Redshirt Sophomore, LSU
Draft Eligible: 2024 | Draft Board Rank: 77

Jump has started to gain some steam, putting together some impressive starts. He's someone who could move even further up draft boards if he can continue to snowball good starts. The redshirt sophomore is a 6-foot, 197-pound frame who's been mowing down hitters with LSU this spring. The southpaw has four appearances with three starts for the Tigers in 2024. He's logged 13.1 innings pitched with 6 hits, 2 walks, and 21 punchouts while not allowing an earned run this spring. Jump has run it up to 96 mph with good carry. He's got two distinct breaking balls with good shape. He's thrown a ton of strikes this spring and has looked the part. Keep an eye on Jump for the Tigers' pitching staff for the rest of this spring.

Trey Yesavage, RHP, Junior, East Carolina
Draft Eligible: 2024 | Draft Board Rank: 35

Speaking of dominance on the mound, Trey Yesaveage has been churning out dominant outing after dominant outing. The 6-foot-4, 225-pound frame has plenty to like out on the mound. He’s a physical arm with a longer arm action and tons of whip-through release from the higher three-quarters slot. Yesavage has worked into the upper-90s, getting up to 98 mph. It’s got a good angle and sink to it that’s been problematic for opposing hitters. It’s a full four-pitch mix that he has had success with this year. In his four starts, he’s pitched to a 1.13 ERA and a 0.72 WHIP. He’s thrown 24.0 innings, allowing just 10 hits, walking only 7, and striking out 39 opposing hitters. Premier arm in the class who has really made some noise this spring; keep an eye on the right-hander.

Matt Scott, RHP, Sophomore, Stanford
Draft Eligible: 2025 | Draft Board Rank: 11

When it comes to intriguing arms, look no further than Matt Scott. The right-handed pitcher is in year two with Stanford, looking to continue to make some noise. He’s ranked 11th on our board for the 2025 draft class. Scott’s a sophomore arm who has been making noise this spring and is expected to continue to gain some steam. Scott has outlier stuff. He’s up into the low- to mid-90s with absurd ride on his heater, carrying it a ton. He’s got a cutter in the mix as well, helping bridge his entire arsenal. The cutter is in the upper-80s with a shorter shape and firm look. The slider is a sweeper in the mid-70s with depthy and later break to it. Scott’s got a ton to like with his arsenal. He’s made four starts with 22.1 innings pitched under his belt on the season. He’s allowed 12 hits, walked 10, and struck out 37 opposing hitters – managing a 3.63 ERA and holding opponents to a .156 average on the season. He may not be a name to watch for this draft class, but keep an eye on Scott with the Stanford pitching staff.

Carson Benge, Sophomore, OF/RHP, Oklahoma State
Draft Eligible: 2024 | Draft Board Rank: 20

Benge generated a fair share of buzz last year and has continued the hype so far this year. A loose operation in the box shows extremely fast hand speed with outstanding feel for the barrel present. Benge is currently posting a .368/.470/.632 slash line with 11 extra-base hits and five stolen bases. Athleticism and a plus arm profile well in right field, rounding out a loud profile with first round upside.

Dakota Jordan, Sophomore, OF, Mississippi State
Draft Eligible: 2024 | Draft Board Rank: 31

Jordan has followed up a strong freshman year with a monster sophomore campaign, posting a .419/.550/.968 slash line with nine home runs and 16 total extra-base hits up to this point. The slugger possesses some of the best bat speed in the country and 70-grade raw power that plays regularly during in-game action. There is massive upside on the offensive side of the ball that will warrant a significant boost next update.

Jacob Walsh, Junior, 1B, Oregon
Draft Eligible: 2024 | Draft Board Rank: N/A

Walsh has been a mainstay in the Oregon lineup over the past few years, but is currently in the midst of his best year yet. The slugging first baseman features massive raw power that shows up regularly in-game. Walsh has already hit six home runs this year, while showing significant development to the hit tool. His current .351 average is over .100 points higher than last year. Should he continue to show improvement in his approach and hit tool, he could garner a fair bit of attention this summer.

Ryan Campos, Junior, C, Arizona State
Draft Eligible: 2024 | Draft Board Rank: 191

Campos was off to a slower start by his standards, but the backstop seems to be returning to his usual productive form. Campos went yard three times against Oregon and currently sits at six home runs on the year while posting a career best .627 SLG. A well-rounded profile on both sides of the ball should allow Campos to be one of the first few collegiate catchers off the board.

Trent Caraway, Freshman, 3B, Oregon State
Draft Eligible: 2025 | Draft Board Rank: 10

Caraway generated plenty of attention as a prep, but opted to head to school instead. The slugging third baseman has immediately made an impact as a freshman, posting a 1.072 OPS through his first 12 games. It is an above-average hit tool with advanced power that should only continue to develop as he starts to create loft more consistently. Caraway will be draft eligible next year as a sophomore and looks to be a potential early day one pick.

Jac Caglianone, 1B/LHP, Florida
Draft Eligible: 2024 Draft Board Rank: 9

Caglianone’s two-way ability stood out this past week and particularly on the hill. He tossed an impressive six-inning shutout with nine punchouts on March 10. His changeup really opened eyes as a go-to offering and rounds out a power mix that reaches upwards of 97-99 mph. The power more than speaks for itself at this point, but the pitchability this past week was downright impressive for what looks to be an early Day 1 pick.

Will Taylor, OF, Clemson
Draft Eligible: 2024 Draft Board Rank: 44

Speaking of power, how about the recent display from Taylor at the plate? He hit a 416 foot homer to left-center that came off the bat at 96 mph. His plate discipline and offensive polish has really improved this season, combined with the plus athlete and defensive tools across the board. If this power shows up often combined with his ability to roam any of the three outfield spots, expect some big things come July.

James Tibbs III OF/1B, Florida State
Draft Eligible: 2024 Draft Board Rank: 86

Tibbs III continues to produce once again. He launched a no-doubt three-run shot in a big spot against Florida and is slashing .387/.480/.903 with eight pumps so far. It’s one of the higher end hit/power floors in this entire class and it’s been on display since his freshman year. There’s a ton to like in the bat from the left side, and he has an upward arrow next to his name.

Top 2028 Collegiate Draft Prospects

Vincent Cervino

The college players in the 2028 draft class have yet to step on campus, but they're positioned to make an immediate impact. Several high end talents either turned down significant money last year or honored strong college commitments, resulting in their arrival on campus this fall. The class is currently led by a trio of high-upside arms in Jack Bauer, Angel Cervantes, and Cameron Appenzeller. They are followed by a deep group of bats that rounds out a strong, high end Top-10. 2025 Year in Review: JUCO

Looking Back at the 2025 Top 10  Matt Barr (‘25 Niagara, ‘26 Minnesota Twins) Bursting onto the scene last winter, footage of an indoor bullpen rocketed Barr onto the radar of many. Explosive fastball reaches near triple digits with incredible spin numbers across the secondaries. Huge numbers at Niagara earned him the title of the first Juco player drafted in 2025. JC Vanek (‘25 Chipola, ‘26 Kansas City Royals) Just a professional hitter. Vanek for two years at Chipola was an impossible out. While there are questions if the power will ever reach what it takes to play first base at the big league level, the bat and quality defensive skillset at first base may carry. Donovan Becerra (‘25 New Mexico, ‘26 Texas Tech) One of the more high octane arms anywhere in the country last year. Can reach back for upper 90’s and has shown serious swing and...

2025 Year in Review: Draft We’ve reached the end of the 2025 calendar year, and while we’ve already jumped in on the 2026 cycle with some of the fall events and post-draft content we’ve had here at Perfect Game, there’s still one more piece on the docket, and that’s the 2025 Year-In-Review piece here from the PG Draft staff.  The 2025 MLB Draft took place in July, when many highly talented players heard their names called and continued their journey through the game to the next level. There’s already been some of those names making noise in the minors and guys who are moving up prospect lists and becoming names to know for MLB fans digging deep into the future of their organizations. While we are going to “close the book” on 2025 with this article, these players still have many years ahead of them, and many blank pages to continue...

Lucien Saint Cyr, INF, Class of 2026 Commitment: Bucknell Saint Cyr announced his pledge to Bucknell, giving the Bison an interesting blend of present tools and projection. Saint Cyr stands 6-foot-1 and offers room to fill in his medium frame, profiling in the middle infield defensively. The New York product starts wide at the base in the right-handed box, keeping his hands high behind the ear. He works into a subtle outward step load, firing through a compact barrel that showcases bat speed and gap-to-gap impact. For head coach Scott Heather and Bucknell, they land a high-quality Northeast infielder in the ’26 cycle, adding to a class that takes the quality over quantity approach. MVPitcher: Duncan McLeod The uncommitted junior toed the slab in three of the four games for Team Mick, tossing 3 2/3 innings.  Zero walks, zero hits and 6 punchouts for the lefty who was used both as a starter in the series clinching game 4 and he closed out game 3 on Friday in quick fashion.  McLeod was very efficient as well, needing just 42 pitches over all his outings.  In the game 4 start, over two innings he punched out 3, with one strikeout with all of his offerings.  The mid 80’s fastball regularly played up, set up with efficient use of the secondaries, with the breaking ball 73/74 and fading change-up 72-74.   Owen Bone (2026) at it again... 13u Tourney All-American Team

Jheremy Brown
Article Image
What a year it was in 2025 on the national landscape at the 13u level as Perfect Game continues to expand its reach around the country, providing an even bigger schedule of events coast-to-coast which has allowed players all over show out and gain their deserved recognition. Whether in Texas for the Houston 1000 or the 13u WWBA in West Palm Beach, we saw huge, eye opening performances from the players placed below, knowing that we could EASILY build a third team and likely a fourth without much effort.  As we do every year with this exercise, it's worth pointing out the trickiness of this age group and putting the teams together with the 13u group. While the players are all members of the Class of 2030, some are younger for the grade, which allowed them to play at the 12u level where's it's a smaller field, shorter mound distance and different bats, so we'll separate them out and...

14u Tourney All-American Team

Player of the Year: Asher Williams It was an incredible year for Williams that was rewarded with a trip to the 14U Select Fest, before some more impressive play in the fall. He came to the plate almost 250 times in PG tournaments throughout 2025 and reached base in well over half of them, hitting to a .500 AVG while slugging a 14U circuit best 12 bombs and driving in 113 runs. The numbers on the surface are ridiculous, but when you look at the high-level events he put them up in, it makes it even more impressive. Pitcher of the Year: Tristan Blalock Blalock earns this honor after a dominant 2025 where he struck out 85 batters in just 48.2 innings of work with a minuscule 1.58 ERA. This included several strong performances at many national level tournaments and showcases where he was able to bully some of the best hitters in the country. It’s hard not to fall in love with...

PG Draft: Gut Feel Guys

Tyler Henninger
Article Image
While we are nearing the turn of the calendar to the 2026 year, that means we are just inching closer to the beginning of the season for many high school players and college baseball is on the horizon. We are prepping for a reshuffle of the 2026 MLB Draft Board as well here amongst the PG Draft staff. But before we get to that, we sat down and have each picked a couple of players who are in the mix to get selected in a couple of different buckets.  We have prospects who could go into the Top 30 picks or so, prospects who could be selected in the Top 5 rounds, and prospects who could go inside of the Top 10 rounds. With the draft quite far down the road and a lot of re-shuffling to be done as these players play themselves into certain spots on the draft board, our scouts picked some players who fit into these “buckets” who are gut-feel guys. These are the guys that our PG...

Hitter of the Year: Landon Bonner The 2028 class saw many players from across the country take the next step in their development as they entered the High School ranks. There were huge performances from highly ranked players on the PG circuit as well as some under-the-radar guys who burst onto the scene. Landon Bonner came into Sophomore National as a Top 500 ranked player and after an impressive showing, left with all eyes on him as a rankings riser in the class. The left-handed hitting shortstop from The Colony, Texas, had a summer to remember with All-Tournament Team selections in three of his next four events culminating with a historic performance at the 2025 PG 15U WWBA National Championship. The Hebron High School prep went 20-for-24 in nine games for 5 Star Mafia 15U Black with four homeruns and 12 runs batted in. He also scored 17 runs and finished with a mind-boggling 2.500...

16u Tourney All-American Team

AJ Denny

Hitter of the Year: Koa Romero is the Hitter of the Year for the 16u group, as he would come to every premier event of the summer and earn All-Tournament honors (Beast of the East, 16/17u WWBA, Jupiter) in every single one. Over 82 plate appearances, Romero would pump ten homeruns with forty two RBI and sixteen walks, good for a .378 average and 1.339 OPS. The performance on volume at the best events of the year pushed Romero over the edge here, as he’d hit a pair of homeruns in Jupiter (one of them at 112 EV) as an underclassmen and collect double digit hits in BOTH WWBA events with a combined six jacks over the two tournaments. It was a summer that combined performance and winning on the biggest stages for Romero. It’s a quiet left-handed swing that packs a punch. He would reap the benefits of his performances, earning a commitment to LSU and jumping to the #74 prospect in...
