Southeast Region Dream Team

C - Hayden Dunhurst, Sr., Pearl River Central HS (Miss.) 
One of the best prep catching prospects in the country, Dunhurst was a Perfect Game All-American last summer and then spent a lot of his time hitting between Bobby Witt, Jr and Rece Hinds with the East Coast Sox – a pretty nice spot to find yourself in as a hitter. He's very talented behind the plate and is one of the top defensive catchers in the class, but the fact that he's also a talented hitter from both sides of the plate, with power to go with it, is what makes him even more enticing to scouts. He's signed with Ole Miss. 

1B - Hayden Travinski, Sr., Airline HS (La.) 
Travinski is a catcher by trade but has seen plenty of time at first base and gets the nod in that spot here. A very physical righthanded hitter, Travinski is a solid defender in either spot but is mostly known for his bat which holds some of the best prep power in the country within it. He's able to drive the ball out of the ballpark to any field and is a threat to leave the yard whenever he steps to the plate. Committed to LSU, Travinski should be in line for at-bats as soon as he steps on campus and should be an impact bat for the Tigers for years to come, should he make it on campus.

2B - Gunnar Henderson, Sr., John T. Morgan Academy (Ala.) 
Henderson, like several others on this list, is a shortstop by trade but for the purposes of this list we'll list him at second base. A lefthanded hitter, Henderson earns rave reviews both in terms of how he handles the bat and how much power scouts think there is in his 6-foot-3, 195-pound frame. He's a quality athlete as well, and while he may end up sliding to either third base or second base at physical maturity, there is both an impact bat and an impact defender at play here. 

SS - Nasim Nunez, Sr., Collins Hill HS (Ga.) 
One of the top defenders in the country regardless of position, Nunez earns the nod here at the shortstop spot. Extremely agile and light on his feet, Nunez has plus range to go along with tremendous footwork, plus hands and a plus throwing arm, giving him all kinds of high-level defensive tools. Offensively, Nunez's profile is a bit more raw, but he still shows good contact skills and has done a good job getting stronger, leading to him driving the ball more and more. 

3B - Myles Austin, Sr., Westlake HS (Ga.)
Another true shortstop, Austin is among the higher-upside prep prospects in the country thanks to loud tools, loud athleticism and physical projection. He's an excellent defender in the middle infield and his arm is a weapon of a tool as well, while offensively the raw bat speed that has always been there is now starting to work with the strength he's gained over the past couple years to now form a pretty substantial power threat from the right side of the plate. 

OF - Jerrion Ealy, Sr., Jackson Preparatory (Miss.)
One of the best athletes this evaluator has ever seen on a baseball field, Ealy is also an elite football prospect who recently reaffirmed his commitment to Ole Miss to play both sports. However, he may be tempted by the first round of the MLB Draft this spring given just how good he is. An elite runner whose speed plays extremely well both in the outfield and on the basepaths, Ealy also has a plus throwing arm, impact bat speed and pretty substantial raw power. A potential five-tool talent, he could wind up being drafted high in the first round with a big spring. 

OF - CJ Abrams, Sr., Blessed Trinity Catholic (Ga.) 
Abrams is another player who is naturally a shortstop, but considering his versatility and ability to play center field, he fits this placement on the list. He's a gifted athlete who is an impact runner and hitter, showing a loose, fast stroke from the left side of the plate that generates easy carry into the gaps now, and he's plenty projectable enough to envision him having impact power eventually as well. Defensively he plays the middle infield well and has a chance to be an impactful glove in either the infield or center field and is in the conversation for the first round this June. 

OF - Maurice Hampton, Sr., Memphis University HS (Tenn.) 
Another dual-sport star, Hampton is a high-end defensive back who is committed to LSU to play both sports. On the baseball diamond, Hampton is an impact athlete like fellow football star Jerrion Ealy, but does impact the game in different ways. Hampton has tons of physical strength that manifests itself into substantial raw power to go along with plus speed and the ability to play center field, where his arm is yet another tool at his disposal. 

UT - Michael Harris II, Sr., Stockbridge HS (Ga.) 
Harris really exploded onto the scene this past year as a legitimate two-way player who could star both ways in college. Offensively, Harris has a really smooth, whippy stroke from the left side of the plate that has pretty quality raw power to it as well, and he's a well above average athlete in the outfield with an expectedly plus arm. His best upside might be on the mound, however, where he's reached 93 mph from the left side to go along with the ingredients for a plus breaking ball. 

P - Daniel Espino, Sr., Georgia Premier Academy (Ga.) 
Espino has established himself as one of, if not the premier prep righthanded pitching prospect in the country. With a fastball that regularly reaches the upper-90s, including a reported 100 mph at the East Coast Pro, Espino is sure to draw a ton of scouting crowds whenever he throws this spring. His off-speed stuff is likewise advanced, with both a slider and curveball, the slider often flashing plus, and Espino has also done a really good job of throwing strikes whenever he's on the mound. He's certainly in the conversation for the top 10 picks this spring. 

P - Hayden Mullins, Sr., Hendersonville HS (Tenn.) 
Mullins has been on the prospect radar for some time now and the Perfect Game All-American lefthander looks like he could be a potential high draft choice this spring. Though not physically imposing, Mullins has the athleticism and stuff to make up for it, and when he's got everything working in tandem he's dominant. The fastball reaches 94 mph or so with good angle to the plate and he does a very good job commanding it on most days, while the breaking ball has shown to be a plus pitch pretty often for him. He's signed with Auburn. 

P - Landon Sims, Sr., South Forsyth HS (Ga.) 
Sims, a Mississippi State signee, definitely fits the mold of the bulldog pitching style with big arm strength coming right at hitters. He's reached as high as 97 mph in the past and is extremely advanced in terms of strength and physicality. He's shown the ability to spin a pretty good slider at times as well, and certainly looks like a power-armed prospect who could help Mississippi State right away in 2020 should he make it to Starkville. 

P - Alex McFarlane, Sr., Habersham Central HS (Ga.) 
One of the more intriguing prospects from the standpoint of projection and age, McFarlane is younger for the grade and is among the most projectable arms in the class. From a lean, lithe build, McFarlane has big time arm speed and he's able to run his fastball into the low-90s with ease, touching as high as 94 mph with much more on the way. He's shown an above average slider in the past as well, enough to where it's viable to project it as plus long term, giving him pretty substantial draft upside this June if he has a good spring. 

P - Blake Adams, Sr., Har-Ber HS (Ark.) 
Adams has been a consistent performer in PG events for some time now and has established himself as one of the top righthanders in the region heading into this spring. He has good size and overall physicality and looks like a durable innings-eater type at the next level. He works into the low-90s with his fastball and holds it there and does a good job of commanding both his breaking ball and his changeup, with good pitchability of his entire arsenal. He's signed with Arkansas.
