Elite Squad jumps out early, holds onto 14u Fall WS title

EMERSON, Ga. – Elite Squad Prime 2022 defeated Kangaroo Court Roos by a score of 3-1 to capture a victory in the PG 14u Fall World Series Championship.

Elite Squad got out to an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. Giovanny Cueto and Justin Colon both reached base on back-to-back singles to lead off the game and they would both later score on an error.

Kangaroo Court Roos would answer back with a run of their own in the top of the fourth inning as Cade Kurland scampered home on a wild pitch.

Elite Squad would get that run back in the bottom half of the inning as Sal Stewart drove home Colon with a two-out double to deep right-center field. That 3-1 score would remain as Elite Squad would get excellent relief pitching from Giovanny Cueto to close out the game.

Logan Forsythe got the starting nod on the mound for Elite Squad and he pitched very well, tossing four innings with three strikeouts while allowing only one run.

The MVP of the PG 14u Fall World Series was Michael Quevedo of Elite Squad who batted 5-10 (.500) for the tournament with two doubles, 2 RBI, and a pair of stolen bases.

The Most Valuable Pitcher was Cade Kurland of the Kangaroo Court Roos who tossed seven one-hit innings with seven strikeouts in their semifinal game.

Kangaroo Court Roos earn 13u Fall title

EMERSON, Ga. – Kangaroo Court Roos defeated Tri State Arsenal 13u National by a score of 8-5 in the 13u PG Fall World Series Championship.

The scoring started in the bottom of the second inning for Tri State as Edward Copper doubled followed by a Kevin Jaxel triple that scored Copper from second base.

Kangaroo Court would answer back immediately with a run of their own in the top of the third inning. A Christopher Roberts double would drive in Gavin Thomas who walked to lead off the frame. Each team had a big inning of their own as Tri State scored four in the bottom of the third followed by a five-run top of the fifth by Kangaroo Court.

George Alexander was outstanding out of the bullpen for Kangaroo Court. The righthander came in relief in the third inning and completed the game for the Roos. Alexander tossed five innings with a strikeout and no runs allowed.

The MVP of the PG 13u Fall World Series was Kevin Jaxel of Tri State Arsenal. Jaxel went 8-for-14 (.571) on the weekend, which included six RBI, a pair of doubles, a triple and a home run.

The MV-Pitcher of the tournament was Jackson McKenzie of Kangaroo Court Roos. McKenzie tossed 6 2/3 innings, earning a win with nine strikeouts and no runs allowed.
