2022 Northern California Workout Showcase (Saturday)
Braeden Fagnant is a 2023 OF/RHP, 1B with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Bonney Lake, WA who attends Bonney Lake. Features a medium build with room to add to the frame. Ran a 7.55 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder. Used a patient approach throughout outfield workouts. Catches the ball deep while maintaining body control. Used a short arm action on fairly accurate throws. More arm strength should come as strength is added to the frame. Worked out at first base as well. Caught the routine ball well. Showed solid footwork on double play feeds. Arm is playable from the position. Left-handed hitter. Utilizes a narrow, upright setup with a high back elbow. Uses a simple pre-pitch load with minimal movement. Swings with aggression. Displayed an uppercut path which creates plenty of loft. Has good feel for the barrel. Intent and loft help produce solid power to the pullside when in sync. Also threw as a right-handed pitcher. Utilizes a high leg lift into an athletic delivery down the mound. Uses the lower fairly well. Throws from a 3/4 slot with a whippy arm action. Has a fair amount of arm speed. The fastball sat 75-77 mph with short armside run. Located the offering well to the arm side. Paired the heater with a mid-60’s curveball with slurve-like action. Showed the ability to spin the breaking ball well. Creates good depth on the offering. Threw both offerings for strikes often. Solid two-pitch mix overall. Good student.
