Nate Montgomery is a 2023 OF/1B with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Lexington, IN who attends Scottsburg. Features a bigger build with some strength present and room to add more. Ran a 7.69 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder. Charged the ball hard throughout defensive workouts. Displayed the ability to catch the ball out front. Will lose body control at times. Uses a crow hop transfer into short arm action throws. Flashed the ability to create some carry on throws. Also worked out at first base. Displayed the ability to catch the routine ball cleanly. Still refining consistency of footwork around the bag and throughout approaches on ground balls. More arm strength should come as the frame continues to fill out. Left-handed hitter. Utilizes an even stance with a slight crouch in the lower half. Shifts weight onto the backside with limited pre-pitch movement. Showed good barrel accuracy using a linear bat path. Has the ability to produce line drives to all fields. Creating more loft would help boost overall power within the profile. Hit tool currently carries the offensive profile.
