LATEST PG SHOWCASE REPORT
2004 World Showcase
Mark is a very athletic and projectable young outfielder who looks like he’s made some solid strength gains since we last saw him. Mark is an above average MLB runner with close to big league average arm strength from the outfield. He has a nice level swing and stays on the plane of the ball for a long time. Mark hit the ball consistently hard both in batting practice and against live pitching. Mark also threw a couple of innings on the mound and showed a nice balanced on line delivery and a pretty loose arm. His fastball was 80-81 mph with some tailing action and he threw a 68-72 mph curveball that had good spin and bite. Aside from his physical tools, we also appreciate Mark’s hustling hard nosed approach to the game. He’s a very good student, too. He's a highest level prospect and his best years are still ahead of him.
