John Perkins is a 2007 right handed pitcher from Somerset, Kentucky who attends Pulaski County HS. He has a 6'3" 210 pound frame that is strong and athletic. He has a great pitcher's build. John has a loose easy arm action with low effort. The ball comes out of his hand very easily and he has a very fluid delivery. His fastball has nice armside run at 89-90 mph. He throws on a good downhill plane. His curveball has a very sharp 11-5 rotation with good downhill plane. His slider is very tight as well. His curveball was at 71 mph and his slider was at 78 mph. He has a big upside on the mound and has very clean mechanics that should allow him to continue to improve. Perkins also showed big time raw power at the plate. He has a short simple swing and drove the ball with authority to the gaps. He has big time two way potential and is a high level college prospect on the mound.
