Joshua Newton is a 2026 3B/RHP, MIF, OF with a 5-9 171 lb. frame from Westfield, IN, who attends University High School of Indiana. A compact build with a medium frame. Ran a 7.15 60-yard dash. Primary corner infielder with a three-quarters arm slot working across the diamond, showing some whip through release. He had choppier steps on his approach, getting into position well. He shuffles through throws with a shorter release. Made the plays well overall with clean glovework and range moving up the middle. Threw 82 mph across the diamond during his round of infield reps. He was a right-handed hitter with a wider base and slightly open feet as he set up. His hands are pretty even with his body, showing a lower back elbow as he sets up. Stays on his backside early. Showed some glide onto the frontside through the swing and was able to impact the ball well when working on the barrel. Produced an 86 mph exit velocity during PG Tech testing. Good student. Named to 2024 Chicago Indoor Showcase TP List.
