David Blackwell is a 6'1", 186 pound, 2006 outfielder/first baseman from Shaker Heights, Ohio, with a thick, athletic build. He hits from a wide stance, with no load and no stride. He has a very aggressive approach to hitting. He has a long swing plain, but he has excellent bat speed to catch up, and gets his hands through the zone quickly. He makes good contact and sprayed line drives to all fields. He showed good athleticism with a 7.22 in the 60, and 4.53 home to first. He has good range in the outfield with sure hands, and a smooth arm action with a strong arm. (82mph). David has 3 solid tools and he will be a big time college prospect as he matures.
