Austin Carey is a 2026 LHP/1B, OF with a 5-5 104 lb. frame from San Leandro, CA who attends Redwood Christian Jr-Sr High. Small frame, lanky limbs, and light build. 8.44 60-yd. A primary pitcher, gets to all mechanical points effectively. Lower slot release that creates arm side fade. hard to square up when down and to the arm side. 1/7 shaped breaking ball. Flashed skills to be a solid first baseman. Showed solid glove actions and was confident catching the ball. Clean arm actions with the strength to put accurate throws to targets. Outfield worked behind the ball and was a rotational thrower with a clean arm. Works from a short opened stance, keeping hands high. The downward hand path worked the barrel to the ball and was able to utilize the entire field. As the frame strengthens, more can come from the bat.
