Colton Linnell is a 2029 1B/LHP with a 5-5 105 lb. frame from Lithia, FL who attends Newsome. Slender, developing frame with plenty of time to physically mature. Recorded a 9.21 second sixty-yard dash time. Primary first baseman with a developing defensive skill set. Incorporates deliberate footwork into the fielding process, a deeper funnel to field and some range around the bag. Produced fairly accurate throws with developing arm strength up to 53 mph across the diamond during drills. Secondary left-handed pitcher that worked from a full windup delivery with a belt high leg lift and shorter stride down the slope. Over-the-top arm slot, fastball worked in the low-50s for the majority of his outing and topped out at 54 mph in this look. Developing arm strength and command, generated a ton of ground balls and will continue to improve with additional velocity. Left-handed hitter that hit from an even base stance with a high hand set, high back elbow and leg lift trigger. Hands driven stroke with rotational lower half mechanics and developing bat speed. Downhill swing path with whole fields approach that will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments and additional physicality.
