2006 National Underclass Showcase
Ronald Frost is a 2008 OF/P with a 6'3'', 185 lb. frame from Decatur GA, who attends North Atlanta HS. He has broad shoulders on a tall/long frame and projects plenty of strength. Frost was named to the showcase Top Prospect Team. Frost is a good runner for his size at 7.00, although his swing will keep him from getting out of the box well. Frost hits from a tall stance with still hands and has a full effort rotational swing. He manages to create good bat speed despite his swing mechanics due to his strength and leverage, but he'll have to make some adjustments to his swing to hit better pitching. The tools are there, though, to be a good hitter, especially for power. Frost showed good arm strength from the outfield, although like his hitting, his mechanics were raw and he'll throw even better with adjustments. Frost also took a turn on the mound. He has a fast, clean arm and topped out at 84 mph on his fastball with some cutting action. Frost's 12/6 curveball was tight and deep at times, although it lacked consistency. Frost has some potential on the mound as well.
