Gabriel Escobar is a 2028 SS/RHP/IF with a 5-8 135 lb. frame from Berryton, KS who attends Shawnee Heights. Slender young athletic build with lots of room to get stronger. 4.64 runner in the forty. Primary shortstop on defense, has quick feet and nice fundamental footwork, athletic with actions with body control, changes arm slots well and has a quick release, solid arm strength when on top of the ball, has all the defensive tools and actions for shortstop. Right handed hitter, sets up in an open stance with a toe tap close, has a short and direct inside swing path, lived on the barrel with mid field to pull side contact, good extension through contact, not strong enough to impact the ball yet but has a nice base swing to grow into. Also pitched, has an athletic delivery with a belt high leg raise and a clean and loose arm action. Fastball topped out at 85 mph with some running life. Threw both a mid-70's sweeping slider and a nice change up with fading life as his secondary pitches. Filled up the zone and mixed his pitches well, has potential on the mound with additional size and strength. Good student. Named to the Kansas City Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
