Tyler Gluting is a 2027 LHP/1B, OF with a 5-10 150 lb. frame from Aurora, IL, who attends Metea Valley. A taller frame with a lean build. Long levers throughout the build with room to keep filling out. Projectable frame. Ran a 7.36 60-yard dash. A primary left-handed pitcher who had a clean delivery. From the wind-up, he had a bigger leg lift around the letters, with his knee tucked between the arms & chest. He extends well, working down the slope, and had some drive off his backside. From the stretch, he worked with a leg lift up around the belt before working down the slope. He worked 81-84 mph on the fastball, with good running life. He was able to get some whiffs working up in the zone as well. Also showed a bigger curveball in the mid-60s that had good shape to it. Breaker had a bigger 1-7 shape to it, and he could land it in the lower third, but he also worked it below the zone, looking for whiffs. A left-handed hitter with a narrow stance and open feet, with the hands higher and the back elbow up. He used a hanging leg lift trigger, getting through the zone with some backside engagement and utilizing some strength. He was quick to the ball with some hand speed, working back up the middle on most of his swings during BP. Aggressive swing. Managed an 81 mph exit velocity during PG Tech testing. He also worked out in the outfield with good actions, carrying his momentum really well and working through it. He showed some arm strength, throwing 87 mph with throws hitting the catcher in the chest. He had a clean shuffle into his throws, working from a three-quarters slot with some arm speed. Great student. Named to 2024 Chicago Indoor Showcase TP List.
