Hunter Penrose is a 2023 RHP/1B with a 6-0 235 lb. frame from Bothell, WA who attends Cedar Park Christian. He has a tall frame with a thick build. Ran the sixty yard dash in 8.83 seconds. Primary right-handed pitcher that uses a small side step to start his motion. He has a knee to belt leg kick that he takes towards second base to create torque. He does a nice job of sitting in his back side before using dip and drive mechanics to push down the mound. He has a long, circular arm action and fires from a 3/4 arm slot. His fastball showed nice life in the zone, generating swings and misses, especially when he threw it high to hitters. His curveball has 12-6 shape with nice depth and could create more break by consistently finishing out front with it. He showed good feel for both pitches, showing the ability to land both in the strike zone. Very good student.
