Alex LaVassar is a 2024 SS/RHP, C with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Des Moines, WA who attends John F Kennedy Catholic. He has a good frame with a strong build. Ran the sixty yard dash in 8.07 seconds. Primary shortstop that works hard to get to balls on both sides of his body. He showed a good feel for the glove and funnels it well. He could add arm strength by working through his throws completely and finishing towards his target. Secondary right-handed pitcher that has has a simple delivery and uses a knee to belt leg kick. He has a short stride and finishes out in front of his front foot well. He has a medium arm action and fires from 3/4 slot. He worked his fastball away from hitters primarily and showed the ability to make it sink when it was in the zone. His curveball has 11-5 shape and has nice depth. Left-handed hitter that starts in a narrow, open stance. with low hands. He uses a leg lift trigger for timing. His swing is rotational and his is able to generate some lift when he makes contact out in front of the plate. He made his best contact when working to the pull side.
