Shane Effgen is a 2025 SS with an athletic 6-0 185 lb. frame from Seattle, WA who attends Seattle Prep. HS. Started the event off clocking a 4.96 40-yard dash. A primary shortstop. Features a medium-sized build with some present athleticism. In the INF, showed strong defensive skill/actions. Noticeable feel for his footwork. Keeps himself moving through the GBs while setting good direction. Hands work soft/clean at reception whether it was to the forehand/backhand side with good funnel. Used a medium arm action that got off accurate throws across with avg. strength for his level. At the plate, operates from an even base. Simple lower-half move as hands drop slightly into a lower launch. Shows a quick turn of the barrel through, working it on a shorter but slight uphill path through the zone. Maintains easy balance throughout the swing with a more pull side oriented approach. Flashes of above avg. bat speed and impact. Was on-barrel the majority of his round and found multiple barrels during live ABs as well. Named to Top Prospects List.
