2021 March Northern CA Workout Camp Sunday
Caden Wooster is a 2022 RHP/1B with a 6-7 230 lb. frame from Oakland, CA who attends Bishop O Dowd. Very large frame with a relatively lean build that has remaining room to fill out. Ran a 7.03 second 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, works solely from the stretch and shows explosive traits to the delivery. Rides the back side well and works hard down the mound, uses a longer arm stroke to release generating great life to a mid-80s fastball. Shows good feel for a short biting slider that has some depth to it as he lands it down in the zone. Also shows excellent feel for a changeup with some tumble down in the zone that he does a good job of maintaining arm speed on. Also worked out at first base, showed good footwork around the bag and ease in his turns while showing big arm strength on throws clocked up to 89 mph across. Right-handed hitter, has a fairly simple swing working short to contact with some lift, lets his strength in his hands play and hits the ball a long way in the air when squared out front. Great student. Named to 2021 March Northern California Workout Camp Top Prospect List.
