James Rotert is a 2027 LHP/1B, OF with a 5-7 135 lb. frame from Columbus, IN who attends Columbus East. Smaller athletic frame. Ran a 7.84 60-yard dash. A primary left-handed pitcher with feel for three pitches on the mound. Maintained balanced throughout the delivery and found a consistent high slot release point. Landed a fastball, curveball and change up in the zone for strikes, really filling up the zone during his outing. Also worked out at first base and in the outfield, moved well around the bag at first base, showed softer hands picking it at first base and an accurate throwing arm with average arm strength on turns and across the diamond. Hit from an even stance at the plate with leg lift timing, stays compact with the swing and a consistent bat bath through the zone. Developing strength and connectivity in the swing. Very good student.
