Madalynn Knapp is a 5-foot-6, class of 2025 3B/SS from Gladstone, IL who attends Notre Dame HS. Madalynn is an emerging talent who shows sound fundamental ability that should allow her to grow her game as her career continues. In addition to her obvious softball talent, Madalynn is also a gifted and recognized scholar. She ran a 5.89 40-yard dash and was timed at 3.72 from home plate to first base. She also posted a 6'4 standing broad jump. A primary infielder, Madalynn shows easy first step quickness and positions consistently well. She is especially adept to her backhand. Her glove plays well, and she transitions routinely, allowing her powerful arm that shows quality movement throughout the throwing action to unleash powerful 61-mph throws that show firm carry and routine accuracy! At the plate, Madalynn starts with a wider base. She has a certain, confident ability to bunt the ball. She has a slight load to trigger and has a flatter path with some lift at contact. There is noticeable strength in her hands and has a routine feel for the barrel. There is a hint of power presently and that should continue to develop as she physically matures. Madalynn has all the tools necessary to grow her skill level. She shows positive body language and appears to have a great passion for the sport. With added strength and exposure to higher level competition, Madalynn should certainly have the opportunity to play at the next level. Big, bright future!
