Malakai Jacobo is a 2026 SS/RHP, 1B, 2B, 3B, MIF, IF, OF, UT with a 5-9 147 lb. frame from Tracy, CA. Large, frame with square shoulders, lean build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.39 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, fields the ball out front with two hands and a wide base, shorter arm action through the back, double tap release, deliberate tempo to footwork, shows accuracy on throws across the diamond, arm strength will continue to develop on throws. Also pitched, simple delivery on the mound, high leg kick, gathers onto backside, some quickness to arm and utilizes a short stride down the mound, tall finish and can incorporate additional lower half. Fastball topped out at 67 mph, throws strikes and mixed a curveball in the upper-50s, short break to it. Right-handed hitter, begins with a bent knee stance and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; weight starts on backside, utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing, limited weight shift moving into contact. Keep hands inside the ball throughout swing, rotational swing and stays short through the zone. Best contact to the middle of the field, flashes lift, can create additional extension out front.
