2022 Spring Midwest Workout Showcase (April 16)
Samuel Rich is a 2023 OF/RHP/2B with a 5-8 160 lb. frame from Williamsburg, IA who attends Williamsburg. Recorded a 7.49 second sixty yard dash time. Medium frame and lean build. Primary outfielder with an aggressive approach, attacks the ball and plays through it well, carrying his momentum towards the target. Fields it out front and shows good feel for the glove, stays low throughout the process. Utilizes a long arm action, ball carries well out of the hand, showed some athleticism and feel for the position. Left-handed hitter with an open stance and even hand set, utilizes a small left lift trigger, creates some separation and does a good job of shifting his weight to load and unload. Has some smoothness to the swing, showed a pull side approach and the front shoulder tended to open early at times. At his best when working through the ball and getting off his back side, produced some solid contact during his round. Great student.
