Alejandro Marquez is a 2021 RHP/1B with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Richmond, TX who attends William B Travis. Long and lean frame with present athleticism and great physical projection. Ran a 7.51 second 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, has a compact and controlled delivery with balance throughout as he stays on a good line to the plate. Short arm circle in the back to a compact arm action with good arm speed to release, generates good life to the fastball as it comes out clean and in the zone; shows feel for a sharp slider that projects well with further development. Overall projects well on the mound. Also worked out at first base and in the outfield, shows athleticism at both positions, fields the ball cleanly and works into throws well with good carry to the bags. Right-handed hitter, simple load and trigger, whips the barrel through with good feel for it on a linear swing plane, gets the barrel head out well with good bat speed and strength generating line drive contact to the pull side that projects well. Named to 2020 Lone Star Showcase Top Prospect List. Very good student.
