Matthew Torres is a 2024 RHP/OF with a 6-1 135 lb. frame from Bronx, NY who attends Mount St Michael Academy. Recorded a 7.71 second sixty-yard dash time. Tall, slender frame with long levers and plenty of room to fill out. Primary right-handed pitcher that worked exclusively from the stretch. Uses slightly coiled leg lift to start his delivery, while incorporating drop and drive lower half mechanics down the slope. Fastball worked in the mid-to-upper 50s for the duration of his outing, topping out at 59 mph from an over-the-top arm slot. Developing command of the strike zone that will continue to improve as he matures. Secondary outfielder that implores anticipatory footwork into and through the fielding process, while fielding slightly off to the side and gathering into a higher release point. Recorded arm strength up to 60 mph during drills. Right-handed hitter that hits from a slightly open stance with a low hand set, low back elbow and hover trigger. Incorporates rotational lower half mechanics to get to launch, while displaying a slightly elongated swing path to get to contact. Showed developing bat-to-ball skills with best impact to the middle and pull-side, will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments and additional strength. Excellent Student.
