Ashton Perkins is a 2021 RHP/3B, OF with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from Pearland, TX who attends Shadow Creek. Recorded a 7.80 second sixty-yard dash time. Medium, well-proportioned frame with some present lower half strength. Primary right-handed pitcher; fairly simple delivery with small side-step into a slightly higher than belt high leg lift. Well-engaged lower half movements down the slope with slight cross-fire release. Fastball worked in the mid-to-upper 70s, topping out at 80 mph in this look from a higher three-quarter arm slot. Showed ability to command both sides of the plate fairly well, sequencing his full mix effectively to keep hitter off balance. Secondary offerings are still in the developmental stages with sweeping slider showing better spin traits and depth at present. Right-handed hitter that hits from an open stance with a lower hand set, low back elbow and small hover trigger. Pull-side approach with round, flatter swing path and the ability to get the barrel out when on time. Intent based lower half mechanics with hands dominant swing that will improve with proper swing adjustments. Excellent Student.
