Payton Nowell is a 2023 C/OF with a 6-1 155 lb. frame from Denver, CO who attends Northfield. Payton shows very good athleticism in all parts of his game. Behind the dish Payton has very good hands with natural skills that allow him to be a projectable next level player. He has a soft glove upon receiving the baseball and his transfer is quick and clean helping him reach a pop time of 1.94 seconds. His arm strength really showed off from the outfield while reaching the mid 80's for velocity. For a catcher Payton has good speed with a 60yd dash time of 7.21 seconds. The bat shows good power and strength especially to the pull side but overall is a linear path through the zone. Bat and hand speed are good. Some added strength to his frame could accelerate his offense and add to his durability as a player at the next level. Payton was named to the 2022 Rocky Mountain Workout Top Team List.
